The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, on Saturday sustained his statewide consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship election, meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders and stakeholders across the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone.

The consultation, which covered all ten local government areas in the zone, was held in two strategic locations, drawing party executives, grassroots mobilisers, and key political figures who reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s future in the state.

The first leg of the engagement took place in Iseyin, where leaders from Oke-Ogun Zone One converged under the leadership of the former Oyo State PDP Chairman and regional leader, Alh. Omokunmi Mustafa.

The meeting hosted party stakeholders from Iseyin, Kajola, Itesiwaju, and Iwajowa local government areas.

Addressing the gathering, Alh Omokunmi Mustafa and other party leaders commended Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin’s leadership style and legislative experience, describing his ambition as a progressive step toward consolidating the achievements of the current administration.

They emphasized the need for unity within the party while assuring the Speaker of their readiness to mobilise support across the zone.

The second consultation was held at Isale Taba in Saki West Local Government Area, bringing together stakeholders from Oke-Ogun Zone Two, which comprises Irepo, Oorelope, Olorunsogo, Atisbo, Saki West, and Saki East local government areas.

Prominent figures at the meeting included former Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, Hon. Raifu Adekunle, the Oyo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebisi, and party stalwart, Alh. Mudasiru Eruobodo. Others in attendance were former lawmaker and Chairman of Olorunsogo Local Government, Kazeem Olayanju, alongside several grassroots leaders and party faithful.

Speaking at both meetings, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin formally presented his governorship ambition and unveiled his development blueprint, “IGBEGA OYO OMITUNTUN 3.0,” which he described as a strategic framework designed to accelerate economic growth, strengthen institutions, and improve the welfare of citizens across the state.

He called on party leaders and stakeholders in Oke-Ogun to support his aspiration, pledging inclusive governance and equitable development that would reflect the aspirations of all regions in Oyo State.

The Speaker was accompanied on the consultation tour by influential leaders from Ibarapaland, including former Commissioner for Information and culture, Hon. Moses Ojoawo, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yemi Taiwo, the lawmaker representing Ibarapa North/Central State Constituency, Hon. Peter Ojedokun, former Commissioner for local government, Mrs. Funmi Orisadeyi, former Commissioner for Environment, Majekodunmi Aborode, Hon. Dimeji Oladapo, Hon. Tunde Adegbenjo, Hon.
