A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has intensified his 2027 ambition with a strategic engagement involving media professionals across the state.
The interactive session, which brought together journalists, PDP media stakeholders, and communication experts from all geopolitical zones of Oyo State, served as a platform for Ajadi to formally intimate the media of his gubernatorial aspiration and outline his vision for the state.

Addressing the gathering, Ajadi emphasized the critical role of the media in shaping public discourse and fostering democratic accountability, noting that his engagement was part of a broader consultative approach he has consistently undertaken across the state.
During the session, participants posed a wide range of questions covering key sectors of governance, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, security, and economic development.

Responding to questions on continuity and governance, Ajadi assured that he would build on the achievements of the current administration led by Seyi Makinde, while introducing innovative policies to further accelerate development.
“I am not coming to start afresh; I am coming to consolidate and improve on the solid foundation already laid. Governance is about continuity and advancement, and Oyo State deserves even greater progress,” he stated.

On infrastructure, Ajadi pledged to expand ongoing road networks and rural development initiatives to boost connectivity and economic activities. In the education sector, he promised increased investment in both infrastructure and human capital development, with a focus on improving learning outcomes and access to quality education.
Speaking on healthcare, the aspirant outlined plans to strengthen primary healthcare delivery systems, ensure accessibility, and improve medical personnel welfare. He also highlighted agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, promising enhanced support for farmers through mechanization, funding access, and market linkages.
Ajadi further addressed youth empowerment and job creation, assuring that his administration would prioritize skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven opportunities to tackle unemployment across the state.
On security, he emphasized the need for collaboration between communities and security agencies, alongside strategic investments to safeguard lives and property.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP, Ajadi noted that while he is confident in his chances, he remains a committed party man who will support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
“As a loyal member of our great party, I will abide by its decisions. However, I strongly believe I have demonstrated capacity, visibility, and commitment through my consultations across all zones, engagements with critical stakeholders, and connection with the grassroots,” he said.
He added that his extensive statewide consultations and interactions with diverse groups and institutions have positioned him as a leading contender in the race.
Ajadi concluded by expressing confidence that it is his time to “take the baton” and lead Oyo State into a new phase of inclusive growth and sustainable development, urging stakeholders and party members to support his aspiration.
