The Guild of Publishers and Influencers Association, Oyo State Chapter, has officially declared its total support and endorsement for the gubernatorial aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election.
The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a strategic meeting held at the Association’s State Headquarters in Ibadan, where members unanimously resolved to back Adekanmbi as their preferred candidate for the state’s top political office.
The meeting had in attendance executive members of the Guild, media practitioners, digital influencers, publishers, and stakeholders drawn from different geopolitical zones across Oyo State.
According to the communiqué, members extensively deliberated on the political future of Oyo State, stressing the need for continuity in governance and the sustenance of the developmental achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The Association described Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as a credible, vibrant, intellectually sound, and youthful leader whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people of Oyo State.
The Guild noted that Governor Seyi Makinde, who assumed office at a relatively youthful age, has transformed governance in the state through purposeful leadership, infrastructural development, economic reforms, improved education, enhanced healthcare delivery, youth inclusion, and people-oriented policies.
It added that its decision to support Adekanmbi was rooted in the conviction that Oyo State must not experience any setback in governance but should instead sustain the current pace of development through continuity, competence, innovation, and inclusiveness.

“As media stakeholders and opinion molders who interact daily with the pulse of the people across all zones of Oyo State, we understand the yearnings of the citizens for continuity, stability, development, and visionary leadership.
“After extensive deliberations, we have unanimously resolved to endorse Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as our preferred candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
“Our decision is based on his personality, accessibility, leadership capacity, political understanding, humility, and his alignment with the developmental blueprint already established by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.”
The Association further stated that Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi represents a new generation of progressive leadership capable of consolidating on the achievements of the present administration while opening new opportunities for youths, women, entrepreneurs, media professionals, and the general public.
The Guild also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to youth inclusion and succession driven by competence rather than sentiment, noting that supporting another energetic and visionary leader below the age of 50 reflects a progressive and future-oriented political direction for Oyo State.
Furthermore, the Association called on youths, civil society groups, artisans, market leaders, students, and well-meaning residents of the state to support Adekanmbi’s aspiration in the collective interest of sustaining development and advancing the prosperity of Oyo State.
The Guild reaffirmed its commitment to responsible journalism, democratic values, issue-based political engagement, and constructive participation in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
