Residents of Suzuki Area, Sango, Eruwa, in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, have received a major boost to their access to potable water following the commissioning of a newly completed multi-million-naira solar-powered borehole project facilitated by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA.
The project, commissioned as part of KSA’s community development initiatives, is expected to provide a reliable source of clean and potable water for residents of Suzuki Area and neighbouring communities, thereby helping to address the challenge of water scarcity in the area.
The solar-powered facility was designed to provide a sustainable and dependable water supply while reducing reliance on conventional electricity and fuel-powered generators.
Speaking at the commissioning, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji described access to clean and safe water as an essential component of community development, stressing the importance of addressing the basic needs of residents through practical interventions.
According to him, the project reflects his commitment to supporting initiatives that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of people at the grassroots.
“Water is life, and access to clean water is a fundamental right that every community deserves. This project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to practical development and improving the living standards of our people in Ibarapa East,” he said.
The commissioning attracted residents, community leaders, stakeholders, and other members of the community, who expressed appreciation for the intervention.
Residents particularly welcomed the solar-powered nature of the project, noting that it would provide a more sustainable solution to the community’s water needs while reducing the challenges associated with dependence on the national electricity supply and fuel-powered pumping systems.
Community stakeholders also described the project as a timely intervention, particularly for households that have had to contend with difficulties accessing reliable sources of potable water.
The borehole forms part of a series of community-focused initiatives associated with KSA’s engagement across the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, with emphasis on infrastructure, social welfare, youth development, and support for vulnerable members of society.
