Hon. Akin Alabi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, has been appointed to serve on two critical committees for the forthcoming All Progressives Congress National Convention.
According to the official list released by the party’s National Convention Central Coordinating Committee (NCCCC), the lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency of Oyo State will serve as a member of both the Finance Committee and the Media and Publicity Committee.

The dual appointments position Alabi at the centre of two vital aspects of the convention—financial planning and communication strategy—widely regarded as key to the success of the national gathering.
While the Finance Committee is tasked with budgeting, fundraising, and overall financial coordination, the Media and Publicity Committee will oversee information management, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination across multiple platforms.

Reacting to the development, Alabi expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing it as a call to service and a reflection of the party’s commitment to excellence and inclusiveness.
“I am honoured by the confidence reposed in me to serve on these important committees. I remain committed to contributing my quota towards the success of the convention and the continued progress of our great party,” he said.

Political observers say the appointments further underline Alabi’s rising influence within the All Progressives Congress at the national level.
The convention is expected to draw party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates from across the country as the APC consolidates its internal structures ahead of future electoral contests.
