Lawmaker representing Oluyole Constituency in the Oyo state house of assembly Hon Waheed Akintayo popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter has met with representatives of over 275 communities in Taska, Ayegoro, Liberty Academy, IDI Iroko Adewole, Odeku and environs under ward 2, assuring them of continuous quality legislative representation

The meeting which was to give account of stewardship of his legislative duties and constituency interventions to residents of the area, was also aimed at answering the call of the communities to address their grievances on the deplorable condition of Taska, Liberty Academy, IDI Iroko Adewole road.

The residents in their separate remarks at the meeting held at Baale Mogana’s residence lamented the deplorable and abandoned state of the road, describing it as a nightmare for both residents and passers-by.

They appealed for urgent government interventions for the reconstruction of Alumso bridge, establishment of primary and secondary school at IDI Iroko Adewole axis, the smooth running of a community health centre in the area and provision of solar powered streets lights.

While appreciating the lawmaker for the timely visit to address the communities’ growing concerns, the Baale Mogana, Chief Sikiru Ogunkeye, the general chairman, Taska-IDI Iroko-Liberty academy, Alhaji Sulaiman Oladeji and a major stakeholder in the area, retired colonel Jimoh Okegbile appealed to the lawmaker to sustain his efforts at ensuring government’s interventions on the road.

Also speaking, Mrs Zainab Olayiwola a concerned resident who had over the past few weeks called the attention of the lawmaker to the concerns of communities on the bad state of the road explained that her social media engagements were out of compassion and pain but were never intended to defame the lawmaker.

Reacting, Hon Waheed Akintayo hinted that the Taska, Liberty Academy, Ayegoro, IDI Iroko Adewole road has been captured in the 2026 budget for the state and donated the sum of one million naira for possible palliative measures, pledging to lobby necessary government agencies for possible interventions.

The lawmaker who also pledged to provide solar powered streets lights to the communities, said his constitutional duties were to formulate laws, carry out oversight functions and provide ensure representation of his constituents at the house of assembly.

“I’m always conscious of the promise I make to people, I don’t make promises I know I don’t have capacity to fulfill. I share in your pain but I don’t have the enablement as an assembly Lawmaker to construct a road. But I’ll keep trying my best to get attention of necessary government agencies or officials on the road” He said

While debunking allegations of neglect of the road, Hon Akintayo appealed to the affected communities to be patient with government as the Seyi Makinde administration was making frantic efforts at ensuring everybody benefits dividends of democracy.

Hon Akintayo also gave his account of stewardship, disclosing that an hospital has been facilitated for ward 3, with another renovation of a school for ward 7 and the commencement of a modern school building at Saint James Basic School, Faruku, Ward 5.

He said “I’ve empowered 120 constituents with cash gifts, insured 500 constituents under the state health insurance scheme and facilitated employment for over 200 youths in SUBEB, 15 youths in TESCOM while others got employment with Amotekun, OYTMA.

“I’m still building a police station within the constituency, I sponsored free transportation for all members of my constituency during removal of fuel subsidy among many others, this is in addition to different motions that I’ve sponsored on the floor of the house”
