The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged possession and distribution of suspected human body parts in Ibadan.
The command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, revealing that the suspects were linked to illicit activities involving human parts.

According to the police, the arrests followed a routine stop-and-search operation by patrol officers in the Adekile area of Agugu. During the exercise, officers intercepted an unregistered motorcycle carrying a passenger whose behavior raised suspicion.
A search conducted on the passenger led to the discovery of a package containing what authorities believe to be human flesh, suspected to be intestines. Both the rider and the passenger were immediately taken into custody.

One of the suspects, identified as Oyategbe Joseph, reportedly confessed during interrogation that he obtained the items from an unidentified source in the Oritaperin area before selling them to two buyers.
Acting swiftly on the information, police operatives tracked and arrested two additional suspects—Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, 46, and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo, 55—who allegedly admitted to purchasing the suspected human parts.

The Commissioner of Police has since directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough probe. Authorities have assured that the suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
The police command also urged residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining law and order across the state.
