The Federal Government has ordered civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The directive was contained in an official circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex—Phases I, II, and III—will be temporarily closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The government explained that the measure became necessary due to the use of Eagle Square for the APC national convention, an event expected to draw party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country.

As a result, all workers whose offices are located within the affected areas, including those at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been directed to stay off-site and carry out their duties remotely for the day.

Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have also been instructed to ensure that the directive is strictly communicated and complied with by all staff.

The move is aimed at easing movement, ensuring security, and managing the expected influx of attendees for the high-profile political gathering in the nation’s capital.
