The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ushered in a new era of leadership following the successful conduct of its 4th Elective National Convention held at Eagle Square in Abuja.
At the high-profile gathering on Friday night, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the party’s National Chairman, while Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru was elected as the National Secretary. Their emergence, along with other members of the National Working Committee (NWC), was confirmed by the Convention Election Committee, largely through a consensus arrangement.

The convention brought together key figures in Nigeria’s political landscape, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. Party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates from across the country were also in attendance, underscoring the significance of the event in shaping the APC’s future.
Other notable appointments include Ali Bukar Dalori as Deputy National Chairman (North) and Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye as Deputy National Chairman (South). The party also elected Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu as National Organising Secretary, Felix Morka as National Publicity Secretary, and Dayo Israel as National Youth Leader, among several others.

The newly constituted leadership is expected to steer the affairs of the ruling party, strengthen internal cohesion, and position the APC strategically ahead of future political engagements.
