JUST IN: Ogundoyin Takes Governorship Bid to Ibadan PDP Stakeholders, Advances IGBEGA OYO 3.0

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, on Tuesday extended his statewide consultation drive to Ibadan, engaging key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the five local government areas that make up the Ibadan main city.

The high-level meeting, held at the PDP State Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, drew influential party leaders, government officials, and grassroots mobilisers from Ibadan North, Ibadan North-East, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-East, and Ibadan South-West.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, who was accompanied by prominent PDP leaders and stakeholders from Ibarapaland, including member representing Ibarapa North/Central, Hon. Peter Ojedokun, State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Yemi Taiwo, former Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hon. Moses Ojoawo, former Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi and former Commissioner for Environment, Alh Majekodunmi Aborode used the opportunity to further deepen his engagement with party structures across the state.

In his address, the Speaker presented his policy blueprint, IGBEGA OYO OMITUNTUN 3.0, outlining his vision for accelerated socio-economic development, institutional strengthening, and inclusive governance in Oyo State.

He emphasized the need for continuity, innovation, and collective responsibility in advancing the gains of the current administration.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin appealed to the Ibadan PDP stakeholders for their support and cooperation, stressing that his ambition is rooted in service, capacity, and a proven track record of leadership.

“I have come to consult, to listen, and to seek your support as critical stakeholders of our great party. Together, we can build on the progress already achieved by our amiable Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and take Oyo State to greater heights,” he said.

In their separate remarks, leaders of the party in Ibadan commended the Speaker for his humility, political maturity, and inclusive approach to consultations.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Oyo State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, lauded Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin for his consistency and strategic engagementd across all levels of the party structure statewide.

He noted that the Speaker stands out among other aspirants for his deliberate and structured consultation efforts.

He further described Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin as the only aspirant who has engaged every stratum of the PDP and the only one who appeared before the party’s screening committee with a detailed and well-articulated development roadmap.

“Your approach to this ambition is commendable. You have demonstrated seriousness, preparation, and respect for the party. The presentation of your IGBEGA OYO OMITUNTUN 3.0 shows capacity and readiness for governance,” Adeleke stated.

Other notable stakeholders present at the meeting included High Chief Nureni Akanbi, Chief Ismaila Ashipa, Hon. Remi Ayoade of the Oyo State Advisory Council, the PDP South West Women Leader, Alhaja Modinat Bose Adedibu, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Toyin Balogun, as well as local government chairmen and PDP party chairmen from the five Ibadan LGAs.
