The ongoing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ meeting has recorded fresh developments, with new consensus candidates confirmed and key constituencies stepping down in the evolving alignment process.

At the meeting, held in the presence of Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON) was confirmed as the consensus candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, following broad consultations among party stakeholders.

Also, Hon. Anthony Adepoju emerged as the consensus candidate for the Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency, further strengthening the party’s coordinated approach ahead of future electoral engagements.

In a related development, stakeholders from Oyo South Senatorial District and Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency have stepped down from the ongoing consensus process, a move seen as part of strategic realignments within the party.

Sources at the meeting indicate that the decisions are outcomes of extensive negotiations aimed at ensuring unity, minimizing internal contest, and positioning the PDP for a formidable outing.

The stakeholders’ meeting remains ongoing, with expectations of more resolutions as deliberations continue.
