The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially returned Hon. Babajide Gabriel, popularly known as “Jagaban,” as its flag bearer for Ibadan North Constituency II ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement comes after a series of strategic consultations and internal engagements within the party, all geared towards strengthening its electoral chances and reinforcing its political structure across the constituency.
It will be recalled that the PDP had earlier endorsed Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, widely known as DoN, the current member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, alongside Hon. Mrs. Comforter Olufunke as its candidate for Ibadan North Constituency I.
According to party insiders, Hon. Gabriel’s emergence followed extensive deliberations among key stakeholders, who reached a consensus on his candidacy, citing his political strength, grassroots connection, and capacity to lead the party to victory in what is expected to be a highly competitive race.
