The political landscape in Oyo State recorded another major shift as prominent grassroots politician and philanthropist, Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, has officially declared his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

KSA, who was widely recognized as the consensus House of Representatives candidate within the PDP before his exit from the party, has continued to enjoy massive support across Ido/Ibarapa and other parts of Oyo State due to his humanitarian gestures and people-oriented leadership style.

He made the declaration during a strategic meeting with party leaders, supporters, stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, and political allies.

According to him, the decision to dump the PDP was borne out of extensive consultations with political associates, loyal supporters, and critical stakeholders who believe that the time has come for a fresh political direction capable of truly representing the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

Speaking during the official declaration, KSA stated that the Allied People’s Movement (APM) offers a better platform for inclusiveness, fairness, youth participation, and genuine service to the people.

He explained that his move to APM is not driven by personal interest alone, but by a deep commitment to advancing the welfare of the people and ensuring quality representation at the National Assembly.

“I have listened carefully to the voices of my people, particularly the youths, women, market men and women, artisans, and the elderly who have continued to encourage me to remain steadfast in the struggle for better representation and development,” KSA said.

“After wide consultations and deep reflection, I have officially decided to join the Allied People’s Movement (APM), a platform that aligns with my vision of people-centered leadership, empowerment, and sustainable development.”

“Yes, I was the consensus candidate within the PDP structure, and I remain grateful to everyone who believed in my leadership and capacity. However, the interest of the people remains paramount, and that is why we have resolved to continue this journey on a platform that truly reflects our collective aspirations.”

“This movement is beyond politics; it is about giving hope to the people, creating opportunities for the younger generation, and ensuring that our constituency enjoys purposeful and impactful representation at the House of Representatives,” he added.

The declaration was greeted with excitement and jubilation by supporters who described KSA as a tested and trusted leader with a proven record of humanitarian service, grassroots development, and commitment to community growth.

Many party faithful who spoke at the gathering expressed confidence that KSA’s entrance into the APM would further strengthen the party’s structure and increase its chances ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Political observers have also described the development as a significant boost for the APM in Oyo State, noting that KSA’s growing popularity, influence among the youths, and consistent grassroots engagements make him one of the strong emerging political figures within the state.

Over the years, Hon. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji has remained actively involved in several humanitarian and developmental initiatives, especially across communities in Oyo State. His interventions in education, youth empowerment, health support, and community development projects have continued to earn him admiration among residents and political stakeholders alike.

Supporters at the event insisted that his House of Representatives ambition is rooted in service, accessibility, and the desire to attract meaningful development to the constituency.

The event ended with a renewed call for unity among party members and supporters, as KSA urged everyone to remain committed to the collective goal of building a better future for the people through responsible leadership and progressive politics under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
