Injury Setback: Osimhen May Return with Protective Arm Gear After Surgery

Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen could be seen wearing protective gear on his arm when he returns to action, following surgery on a fracture sustained during a recent match.

The Nigerian striker picked up the injury after a collision with Ibrahima Konaté during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Liverpool last week.

After undergoing a successful operation earlier this week, Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for about six weeks. However, reports suggest he could make a return before the end of the season—possibly wearing a specially designed protective splint to support his recovery.

According to Turkish journalist Arda Özkurt, the striker may be cleared to play with the aid of the arm support if his rehabilitation progresses smoothly.

Interestingly, this wouldn’t be the first time Osimhen has played with protective gear. He already wears a face mask—a signature look since undergoing cheekbone surgery in 2021. The arm brace, if used, would help stabilize his forearm, reduce strain, and prevent further injury while he regains full fitness.

There is growing optimism that he could return in time for the highly anticipated Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26. If his recovery takes longer, fans may have to wait until the final games of the season to see him back in action.

Despite the setback, Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive campaign, registering 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have been key to Galatasaray’s strong push in the league, where they currently hold a four-point lead.

As the season approaches its final stretch, both club and fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for their star striker.
