…Falana Commends Two-Term Lawmakerโs Empowerment Initiatives, 500 Free Tickets for Fola Homecoming Concert
The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has felicitated with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Adedeji Dhkirullah Olajide Stanley, popularly known as Odidiomo, on the occasion of his birthday.
The Agency, in a goodwill message signed in celebration of the former federal lawmaker, described the occasion as an opportunity to recognise his years of public service, commitment to constituency development and various efforts aimed at creating opportunities for young people across Oyo State.
Odidiomo, a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, has remained active in programmes and initiatives focused on youth empowerment, skills development, capacity building and community engagement.
According to the Agency, his interventions in areas including digital skills, vocational training and other empowerment initiatives have provided opportunities for young people to acquire relevant skills and improve their capacity to participate meaningfully in the economy and society.
Falana, while congratulating the celebrant, commended Odidiomo for what he described as his commitment to supporting young people and promoting initiatives that can contribute to their personal and professional development.
He noted that youth development goes beyond political participation, stressing the importance of equipping young people with practical skills, knowledge, confidence and opportunities that can help them become productive members of society.
The AYD Chairman also acknowledged the role of individuals and stakeholders who support youth-oriented programmes, noting that collaboration between government institutions, elected representatives, private organisations and other stakeholders remains important in expanding opportunities available to young people.
Falana particularly commended Odidiomo for his support for the forthcoming Fola Homecoming Concert in Ibadan, where he personally purchased 500 tickets for free distribution to young people across the Oyo South Senatorial District.
The gesture, according to the Agency, further demonstrates the importance of creating platforms where young people can participate in entertainment, creative expression, networking and other productive social activities.
The Fola Homecoming Concert is expected to attract young people and entertainment stakeholders, providing another platform for youth engagement and showcasing the creativity and talents of young Nigerians.
Falana described the gesture as a meaningful contribution to youth participation in the creative and entertainment space, particularly at a time when the sector continues to provide avenues for young people to express their talents and pursue economic opportunities.
He further urged other public-spirited individuals, organisations and stakeholders to continue supporting programmes capable of providing young people with opportunities for learning, enterprise, creativity and meaningful engagement.
The Agency emphasised that the development of young people remains a collective responsibility, requiring sustained investment in education, digital literacy, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, innovation, creative industries and leadership development.
According to the Agency, Oyo State has a large and energetic youth population whose talents and potential can contribute significantly to the state’s socio-economic development when properly supported and given the right opportunities.
The Agency therefore used the occasion of Odidiomo’s birthday to encourage continued collaboration among stakeholders in strengthening youth-focused initiatives across the state.
While celebrating the APM senatorial candidate, Falana prayed for continued wisdom, good health, strength and fulfilment for the celebrant, wishing him many more years of impactful service and meaningful contributions to the development of Oyo State.
