Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have confirmed the member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Shina Oyedeji, as the party’s candidate for the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency seat.
The confirmation emerged during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting currently being held with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, alongside key party leaders and political stakeholders from the Oke-Ogun axis.
Sources at the meeting disclosed that party leaders and stakeholders unanimously affirmed Oyedeji as the candidate to represent the constituency, a move aimed at strengthening unity and consolidating the party’s political structure across the four local government areas that make up the federal constituency — Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa.
Shina Oyedeji currently serves as the member representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, having been elected during the 2023 general elections.
Political observers note that the stakeholders’ endorsement reflects ongoing consultations within the party to maintain cohesion and strategic alignment across Oyo North ahead of future electoral activities.
