Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have confirmed Hon. Biodun Òní as the party’s candidate for the Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency.

The confirmation emerged during an ongoing stakeholders’ meeting with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, alongside key political leaders and party stakeholders from across the Oke-Ogun zone.

Sources at the meeting disclosed that leaders and stakeholders present unanimously affirmed Hon. Òní as the candidate to represent the Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency, a development seen as part of broader consultations aimed at strengthening party unity and consolidating political structures within the district.

Hon. Òní currently serves in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde as the Director-General of the Oyo State Solid Mineral Development Agency, a position he was appointed to in 2023 after previously serving as Commissioner for Environment in the state.

Political observers say the stakeholders’ endorsement signals a strategic move by party leaders to strengthen coordination and maintain cohesion across the Oke-Ogun axis ahead of future electoral activities.

Further details are expected to emerge as deliberations from the meeting continue.
