The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has again demonstrated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development with the commissioning of two motorised boreholes in Ward 5 and Ward 7 of the local government.

In addition to the boreholes, the chairman also donated generating sets to power the facilities, ensuring consistent water supply for the benefiting communities.

The boreholes, located at Inu Koko in Ward 5 and Okeremi, Rufai Street, Coca-Cola area in Ward 7, are part of ongoing efforts to improve access to clean and safe water across communities in Ibadan North.

The first commissioning took place at Inu Koko, Ward 5, within the premises of a health centre earlier donated by the late former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban).

Speaking at the event, the President of the Muslim Community in Inu Koko, Imam Nurudeen Ogunsola, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Olufade for fulfilling his promise to provide a borehole for the community.

He described the council chairman as a “promise-keeping and trustworthy leader,” noting that the water project, alongside the provision of a generating set, would complement the existing health facility and significantly improve the wellbeing of residents.

He also acknowledged the contributions of key stakeholders in Ward 5, including the Councillor, Hon. Ajayi Hammed; Ward Chairman, Mr. Okanlawon Tunde; Supervisory Councillors, Hon. Speaking on behalf of the community president, Otunba Olufemi Ayeni appreciated the council chairman for addressing the persistent water challenges in the area. He noted that although the community president, Pa Ololade, was unavoidably absent, he had directed that his profound gratitude be conveyed to the chairman for the timely intervention, including the donation of a generating set to ensure the borehole operates efficiently.

Ayeni further commended the efforts of Ward 7 stakeholders, including the Councillor, Hon. Taiwo Adediji (School Boy); Supervisory Councillor, Hon. Ismail Akeem; Ward Chairman, Hon. He also urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the facilities, including the generators, to ensure their sustainability, while appreciating the management staff for their contributions toward the successful execution of the projects.

In his remarks, the PDP Chairman in Ibadan North Local Government, Comrade Mustapha Ademuyiwa, lauded the communities for their unwavering support for the ruling party in Oyo State.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to improving the lives of the people, describing the borehole and generator projects as clear examples of people-oriented governance under Hon. Olufade’s leadership.

He assured residents that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would continue to prioritize their welfare and deliver impactful projects across the local government.
