As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate International Workers’ Day, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji has extended warm felicitations to workers across the country, acknowledging their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to national development.

In a statement released to mark the occasion, Engr. Adedeji described Nigerian workers as the “unsung heroes whose daily sacrifices sustain the economy and keep the wheels of progress turning.” He noted that despite prevailing economic challenges, workers have continued to demonstrate unwavering commitment and patriotism in their respective fields.

“Today is not just a celebration, but a moment of reflection on the dignity of labour and the need to continually prioritize the welfare of our workforce. Our teachers, healthcare professionals, artisans, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and private sector players all deserve recognition for their role in nation-building,” he said.

Engr. Adedeji emphasized the urgent need for policies that promote fair wages, improved working conditions, and sustainable job creation, stressing that a motivated workforce remains the bedrock of any thriving society. He also called on government at all levels, as well as private sector stakeholders, to deepen efforts aimed at empowering workers and protecting their rights.

Highlighting the importance of youth inclusion in the labour force, he reiterated his commitment to initiatives that foster skill development, innovation, and economic opportunities for young people within his constituency and beyond.

“As we celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day, let us renew our collective commitment to building a system that rewards hard work, encourages productivity, and ensures that no worker is left behind,” he added.

Engr. Adedeji concluded by wishing all Nigerian workers a happy and fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration, urging them to remain steadfast, hopeful, and united in the pursuit of a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
